Maula-e-Kainat

from $12.00

“Ali Ali nazar aye jidhar jidhar dekha”— “Wherever I looked, I could only see Ali!”

The above Urdu verse—popularly recounted in Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's qawwali “Shah-e-Mardan”—is a reference to the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W's night journey to Heaven, where the figure is claimed to have witnessed Ali, his spiritual heir and closest companion, in every nook and cranny of Paradise.

Such was the love of the Prophet for Ali, to the point that the shape of Ali lost its physical, earthly bounds, becoming one with the Universe, the Kainat.

*Only available in matte, linen-textured finish.
